John Paul R. Mayers – Graphic Designer

Born May 28th, 1973, John Mayers grew up in Brittons Hill, St. Michael, before relocating to 2nd Ave. Paddock Road, also in St. Michael.

Shortly after leaving the Garrison Secondary School, he pursued studies in Fine Art with Artist, Arlette St. Hill, and was awarded a GCE Ordinary level qualification. John then went on to further his studies in Fine Arts at the Barbados Community College (BCC) for which he gained an Advanced level qualification, followed by an Associate Degree in Graphic Design.

On completion of his studies he worked at Vision Marketing Advertising Agency and then on to Cole’s Printery where he was employed for 13 years. John now manages his own printing business called Press Print, where he offers design and screen-printing services.

While his portfolio continues to expand, both locally and internationally, John deems his greatest achievement to date to be his win in the Barbados 50th Anniversary of Independence logo competition.
